Bernard K.'s Testimonial

Sunseri Construction hired Valley Solar to install solar modules on two housing projects, and was positively impressed each time with their performance.

Each time we were able to get a design in a few days, and the layout for the solar stanchions. This layout and the load calculations are critical for the design of the roof trusses, or to verify that the existing trusses would support the additional loads.

The electrical design was also a breeze and passed the verification of the electrical engineer for the project, and in each case, Valley Solar secured a permit very quickly. Adding the solar system didn't affect the construction schedule of the projects, as it did in the past with other solar contractors. Once the contract was signed, Valley Solar managed to get and install the whole system quicker than we estimated. While on the roof we noticed that the crews were always tied off somewhere, showing that safety is an important part of their scope of work.

All of the electrical work was professionally installed and passed inspection without a hitch. For both projects it was a great experience working with Valley Solar, especially in a field where speed of execution coupled with professionalism is paramount.

The only improvement I would suggest is more coordination with the jobsite's electrical contractor to prepare the solar system's tie-in into the project's electrical.

Saint Francis High School Dedicates New Solar Installation: 309KV, Sacramento 309 kW

Saint Francis High School

Project Overview

Valley Solar installed a 1,316 panel, 309 KW rooftop solar system for Saint Francis High School of Sacramento. The solar system will generate 30.6% of the school’s current electricity requirements, will save over $1 million in energy costs over the next 20 years, and was cash flow positive in its first year of operation. The project was partially funded through a US Treasury Grant, SMUD rebates, and reductions in electric bills. It is the second largest school solar installation in SMUD’s service territory (the largest being Jesuit High School, whose solar system was also installed by Valley Solar). The foresight and environmental awareness of Saint Francis High School’s partnership with Valley Solar prompted Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson to say the following at the Sacramento State of the City Address: “Congratulations to the Saint Francis community, SMUD, and Valley Solar. Your collaboration is a perfect example of how an investment in solar makes great business sense for a property owner, creates green jobs, and improves our environment."

Jesuit High School

Project Overview

Valley Solar installed a 530 KW Photovoltaic (PV) solar system for Jesuit High School in Carmichael. The 2,216 panel system spans ten rooftops and is one of the largest rooftop mounted solar systems on a high school campus in North America. Funded partially through a US Treasury Grant and SMUD rebates, the solar system saves approximately $12,000 a month in energy costs and generates 48% of the school’s energy needs. Their partnership with Valley Solar earned Jesuit High School the 2012 Sacramento Small Sustainable Business of the Year for Energy Conservation Award by the Sacramento Business Environmental Resources Center. Jesuit High School also keeps an up to date Solar Meter in order to educate students, parents, and faculty on the energy and money saving benefits of their new solar system.

Bret's Testimonial

Walnut Elementary Education Center's goal is to provide alternative energy educational opportunities to our students and community. Valley Solar did an amazing job installing our 1 kilowatt, grid-tied solar array for our campus' energy education center. Working side by side with the Turlock Unified School District (TUSD) and the Turlock Irrigation District (TID), Valley Solar's planning and construction went beyond our expectations in the creation of our system.

As both a customer and teacher, I was most pleased with the time and effort spent by Valley Solar to create and complete this unique educational experience. Brad and his team went to great lengths to support our project. If you are a teacher or school district looking bring energy education to the forefront, and have acquired funding to install a pv system, Valley Solar would be my recommended source to complete your project.

To Whom It May Concern:

If you are considering photovoltaic on your home or commercial project, we can't recommend anyone better than Valley Solar for your job!

Cresleigh Homes spent many months researching solar companies, various products available, permitting processes, and the rebate programs available before offering solar options on our homes. We discovered early on that we required not only a knowledgeable solar contractor who could help us through the permitting and rebate processes, but could work well with our other subcontractors. We found the perfect fit with Valley!

Brad Price has been a pleasure to work with and we look forward to a long working relationship with his company as solar power will no doubt gain in popularity within the new homebuilding industry.

My endorsement is issued after measuring Valley's performance against hundreds of new homebuilding subcontractors I've supervised over the past 25 years. I believe that says it all.

Thanks Brad for the excellent service you've provided. Cresleigh looks forward to having you as a valued Trade Partner for years to come.
