Jesuit High School: One of the Largest Roof-Mounted Solar Systems on a High School Campus in North America
Valley Solar installed a 530 KW Photovoltaic (PV) solar system for Jesuit High School in Carmichael. The 2,216 panel system spans ten rooftops and is one of the largest rooftop mounted solar systems on a high school campus in North America. Funded partially through a US Treasury Grant and SMUD rebates, the solar system saves approximately $12,000 a month in energy costs and generates 48% of the school’s energy needs. Their partnership with Valley Solar earned Jesuit High School the 2012 Sacramento Small Sustainable Business of the Year for Energy Conservation Award by the Sacramento Business Environmental Resources Center. Jesuit High School also keeps an up to date Solar Meter in order to educate students, parents, and faculty on the energy and money saving benefits of their new solar system.
